Abstract

This extended essay is an analysis of the powers of the One Ring and Sauron himself throughout the novel. It investigates thier effects both on characters and the story. These powers are most likely possession and corruption. They are very important and decisive for the story. As the story continues the relation between those powers and storyline gets clearer. At the end of the story all these elements are connected with the themes and every other detail. Even these powers cannot change the course of the novel and the good wins again.
